Who's behind this, and why it exists.
What Groundwork is
Groundwork started as a simple idea: small local businesses need decent websites, and most of them either don't have one or are stuck with something dated. Building and pitching those sites one at a time doesn't scale, so the same tooling used to find those businesses, score their web presence, and generate a real redesign to pitch with is now available to any freelance developer who wants to run that same playbook for their own clients - see how it works.
Who's behind it
Groundwork is built and operated by David Hess, through Groundwork Web Services LLC, a registered Michigan limited liability company. It's a small, real operation - not a large team, not a fund-backed startup. Every generated site goes through the same anti-fabrication checks (no invented reviews, no fake pricing, no stock photos passed off as a business's own) whether it's a direct client of Groundwork's own or a lead a Pro/Studio subscriber is working.
What we won't claim
We'd rather say less than overstate it. You won't find inflated customer counts or revenue claims on this site - if a number is published here, it's real and current as of the date it was posted. Cold outreach and freelance client work both take real, unglamorous effort; nothing here is a shortcut around that.
